Grandma

Grandma always made life a little extra special-
Special cookies, Special candies,
Special clothes that she made,
Special visits & holidays.

I remember her apple tree,
I remember her flowers,
I remember spending summers with her,
I remember her wonderful laugh.

Most of all-
I remember the lesson that she taught to those who were open to it-
You can get what you want-
If you are willing to work for it-

Work for it & make your dreams come true-
Live your dreams &
Do what you love-
& You will be filled with great joy!

Celebrate & remember this message-
Live your dreams,
Do what you love, &
Everytime you see a rainbow,
Everytime you feel the sunshine,
Remember Grandma Bea & Feel Great Joy!!!

I left the text and punctuation exactly as it was on the napkin on which I wrote this and from which I delivered the eulogy for my Grandmother-Beatrice Koehntopp-on December 1, 2003 in Bellingham, MN. She finished her life on November 27, 2003 at the still vibrant age of 98 years, 10 months, 7 days.

All Saints Day

All Saints Day comes but once a year
Yet the day
Shall always be remembered
For the unknown promise

A thousand summers
A million adventures
Magical love and incredible joy
Yet to come...
