World Changing

When I hear your laugh
When I feel your smile
When I play with your mind
When I know the warm

The warm, the warm
That makes her, her
The World-My World
Is a better place

The dreams
The work
The care
The love

Things that are needed
The necessary things
To make My World-The World
She freely gives

Together
Our minds play
Our minds consider
Our minds ponder and dance

When this happens
When we truly share
I wonder about the ways
The World changes Her World

Little Easy

I wander through New Orleans
A City I have known
A place I have played
A place I have loved

The City takes me by the hand
She leads me through
The Quarter, The Marina
And more, much more

I taste the delectable
I sip the nectar
I listen to the music
I see the beauteous artwork

I view what is left
And what is not
I wonder, wonder Why?
Why bother, why try?

The City isn't there anymore
But it is...
I will keep coming back
To have the City take me by the hand

To wander through New Orleans
To play
To love
To watch and to see

How they bother
How they try
To make the Place That Care Forgot
Live, Play, Love, Sing, and Dance

As I wander through New Orleans
I understand-Care Remembers
I know-if I can wander through
New Orleans is!

Forever Friend

I hear her voice,
I know she is hard at work.
She hears my voice,
I feel her smile.

That special smile,
Which began oh-so-long ago,
And oh-so-far away,
Yet still, in an instant, it is mine.

I listen to her words,
My mind dances with her thoughts,
She knows...
I begin to understand

That special smile
Her heart,
Her warmth,
Her spirit,

My joy
Forever....

Awakening

AWAKENING

The velvet blackness
Flecked with gold
Slowly, oh so slowly
Turns velvety purple
And into deep, deep red
Her rich blood courses hotly
The sun begins to rise
The day emerges
And the love,the passion,the joy,
Envelop her as she slowly awakens,
Knowing that she is safe and at peace,
Yet still a thousand dances and a million adventures to come
An uncountable number of firsts yet to be shared
As his heart touches her mind, her heart, her spirit...

"The true key to the universe is taking the time to build friendships, building trust along the way, learning what true joy, love, and feeling safe along the journey means. When you can do that, you are well along the way."

Employee Motivation?

More Than The Almighty Buck

Employee motivation studies suggest that if money is a

motivator (and that is a very big if,) it is generally only

effective for about six weeks. Granted, a salary increase or

bonus will pump up an employee’s attitude or performance for

a while. And yes, raises are important. But the raise

quickly becomes “what I’m worth,” and performance usually

reverts to the previous level.

While most employees would like more money – and could

easily find a way to use it – they are not as financially

motivated as they tell us. To be sure, there are many

workplace motivators besides “the almighty buck.” It is

important to balance rewards with results, and there are

many rewards and motivators that cost little or nothing.

Four strong motivators that consistently appear at the top

of employee wish lists are:

· Being acknowledged for things they do well;

· Feeling “in” on things;

· Challenging work; and

· Knowing management cares.

It’s no secret – people want to be appreciated, respected

and involved.

Unfortunately for many employees, the only interactions they

have with their leaders are corrective and perceived as

negative. As a leader, it is critical you make time to

solicit employees’ opinions and recognize their

accomplishments. You might think this approach would only

produce a positive response from “good” employees. Wrong!

Even “problem” employees respond to leaders who make them

feel useful and important.

Here is your challenge: Take five minutes every day to

“catch your employees doing something right.” Then, let them

know about it – recognize and acknowledge them. If you do

this in a sincere and realistic manner, your employees will

know you care, and they will appreciate the fact that you

noticed their contribution.

Those behaviors that are recognized are generally repeated.

If you want more of the appropriate behaviors, take the time

to notice with a verbal “pat on the back.” It is that

simple, and it doesn’t cost a thing.

A respected and recognized employee is usually an efficient,

happy, and committed employee!
